Australia...Thank you so much for your kind words!! Australia Day is a public holiday here, and whilst we don't have any 'specific' traditions as such, you'll find a lot of the population attending a bbq at some point during the day (lots of towns, including our own, will have a community breakfast that incorporates the local Australia Day awards), often decked out in Aussie flag gear and colours! Lots of people go to the beach (weather depending, of course!), there's always a game of beach or backyard cricket going on (and there is always an Australia Day one-day cricket match played, a bit like the US football game on Thanksgiving). The state capital cities host a fireworks display, and there are lots of community events all over the country. It's a day we celebrate who we are as a nation, and generally have a lot of fun, too :-)Stitchingmumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18231062423418253831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6855742806179913368.post-86365120288578303852012-02-01T21:28:24.405-08:002012-02-01T21:28:24.405-08:00I really like the perspective on the two photos of...I really like the perspective on the two photos of the open road.
