Photo Finish

Who am I kidding? Photo Finish Friday never gets blogged on a Friday, but I shall tarry on!!! I had one of those weeks that was somewhat unexpected - I went to work on Monday morning, thinking it was going to be a relatively quiet week. By 10:30 I was organising flights to Adelaide for a meeting on Tuesday afternoon, which meant a visit with my best friend and her family, and a catch-up with my sister on Wednesday (my day off). Staying with my best friend involved much talking, trashy TV and Red Tulip chocolate, and Wednesday saw my sister and me wandering the city on a most gloriously perfect day.

But before this decadence, the kids and I spent Sunday afternoon in the garden. It still looks like a mess, but we're minus a sick gum tree , lots and lots of weeds, overgrown foliage, and general mess. Consider these the 'before' photos of my vision for what it to come!

The pond, minus the sick gum tree, lots of weeds and overgrown trees/bushes

My 'strawberry bath', minus the strawberry plants

Up the back, so much potential, but rather cringe-worthy at the moment - at least there are very few weeds!

Fruit trees - need to learn how to prune and espalier them properly.

My raised garden bed (complete with left-too-long beetroot)

Totally random rose garden on Goodwood Road, a whole block planted with roses.

Breakfast at the most divine little cafe/gift boutique, 'E for Ethel', I strongly encourage anyone passing through North Adelaide to stop in and say hi! to Amanda, such a beautifully welcoming place.

Love, love, love North Terrace, the buildings (Bonython Building here), the trees, the history

Had a lovely tour and stroll through the Art Gallery - captivated by this sculpture, the inscription (below) underneath this very serene woman reads 'Happy in beauty life and love and everything' - what an awesome motto for life.

Apart from the Heysen's (sadly, no pictures to show, but seeing them IRL again is still breathtaking), this was my favourite piece, it truly has to be seen to be appreciated!! Hundreds of clear Depression glass pices, strung from the ceiling.

Dr Who chalk picture fabulousness in Rundle Mall

Poofy Cheeks

And last but certainly not least, my music share for this week's Sunday Song over at Natashain, the simply beautiful JJ Heller, whose words never fail to speak to my soul.

Coming up: my Hunger Games marathon, Project Simplify my way and preparing for the fun of camping over Easter!
